Greetings from The Stuffed Animal Review, a publication dedicated to the analysis of stuffed creature design and their larger worlds. You have stumbled upon what The Review refers to as its Sunday through Friday posts: random images of stuffed animals doing silly things. Feel free to dig deeper into the purpose of this blog by clicking on the “Philosophy” page. Join us on Saturday for more substantive musings.
Sunday Sanctified
This week's Sunday through Friday posts extend Saturday's thoughts on stuffed creature disturbing details. Yesterday we looked at a big no-no: stuffed creatures that double as bags or purses. Zippers split your stuffed creature in two and allow access to innards, an image that should produce a shudder.
The zebra bag below was Exhibit #1.
A similar find: this Hallmark "Bug em" creature: a fairly sweet insect whose main function is to act as a three-dimensional greeting card. "Fill me up with cards and goodies!" implores the tag. The Review would rather not cut you in half, leaving a huge chunk of flesh flapping alarmingly from your body, as if you just had an unlucky stroll through a minefield.
