Holiday Special: Good Translation – Bad Translation
This small creature is a satisfying translation of Frosty. The Review gives points for attention to detail: felt-stick arms, dotted-coal mouth, and orange carrot nose. He is also squishy soft. The Review prefers to see a hatless snowman, but does not want to be too much of a Scrooge during the holiday season.
But The Review does not have any problem unleashing curmudgeonly comments for this reindeer. This is one stiff Rudolph, which gives him the structural stability to stand up, but makes holding and hugging wholly unsatisfactory. And those eyes – startled and alarmed. Rudolph appears caught in the headlights of a fast-approaching plane. Those aren't shouts of glee...
