Readers are by now familiar with Cheppie the Sheep; the beloved Review staffer pictured in the sidebar communing with a donut. [For those who have not yet met Cheppie, please consult the Staff Directory.]
Cheppie possesses a great deal of soul for such a diminutive sheep; he experiences life deeply. He's recently been gripped by a desire to express himself. The Review, being a benevolent employer, recognized his artistic stirrings and granted Cheppie a sabbatical from work so he could meet his Muse head-on.
This week's Sunday through Friday posts are dedicated to the creative process and the output of Cheppie's inner-self. Cheppie took to the road, traveling across the United States in search of everyday beauty. He found his meals on the road inspirational. Food is so basic, so fundamental. It connects all people. And assembling a meal - even from a chain grocery store - is a daily, creative act at once universal, yet attached to a particular place and moment in time.
And so, The Review proudly presents Cheppie's photographic collection: Food on the Road: A Still Life
Gas City, Indiana
Peanut Butter, Pita, Pepper. Apple and Sheep.
